Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita, Mexico
This was the first home to be constructed within the grounds of the Four Seasons Resort. Being located on the ocean, the site was perfect to create a vacation rental to appeal to the high end market. This was an exciting project that included being the Owner’s Representative as well as project designer and coordinating with a high profile architect and General Contractor throughout the construction. The designers had all of the furnishings custom made in Guadalajara. When they were brought into the project, the architect had created an amazing design which included a 30’ high thatched Palapa as the outdoor living area. However, the architect had located the kitchen on the ocean and the family room on the street side. Their first recommendation was to mention to the owners that in Mexico they would have staff for preparation of meals and entertainment so a better plan would be to reverse the two spaces. From that point on, we had gained their trust. From a furnishings standpoint, a nod to Mexican traditional design was maintained but with a definite contemporary edge.
